Elise ScottElise is a queer, disabled, fat, neurodivergent, and nonbinary human living with chronic pain, and they are a joyful earth-mother, an artisanal vegan cheesemaker, and a carnivorous plant enthusiast. They hope that their lived experiences, and the stories that grow from them, will invite people to realize that our uniqueness is the very thing that connects us. Elise’s life has been an adventure, from facilitating equine therapy for trauma survivors to counseling at-risk youth with the aid of an inordinately large sub-woofer and beyond. They earned their bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke and their Master’s from Capella University. Elise is a full-time writer/mom in Connecticut, where they live with one tiny daughter and nearly two hundred pounds of fur-family. Their poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in Five Minutes, High Shelf, HerStry, Knee Brace, Black Sunflowers, and Quibble among others.
