Rudy Cecera is an Emmy winning television writer who has written for various late-night talk shows including "The Late Show with David Letterman" & "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno". He has also written and produced several off-Broadway plays and independent TV pilots including "Touch" (aired on the Sci-Fi Channel), "Muse" (screened at HBO).
His film work includes the shorts Madcap Mabel, which was an official selection in several festivals including Clearwater, Hobokon, New Jersey International and Yperia and Mabel’s Dressing Room which was screened at the Coney Island Film Festival. Both films have won him the Chaplin Award for Silent Film Culture. He has also written several full-length screenplays including period pieces, rom-coms and animated features which he has pitched to TV networks and production companies.
As an author Rudy has contributed to several film biographies and has been published in various magazines and newspapers. He is also an entertainment journalist for various websites where he reports and reviews on all aspects of pop-culture. He has been a press representative for the Tribeca Film festival for almost a decade where he interviews actors, directors and filmmakers. His acclaimed “Women in Film” series for Screen Comment has allowed him to interview and promote many female directors and producers.
In addition, Rudy still manages to write an occasional joke or two. As an adjunct professor he has taught journalism and comedy writing. He can be often be seen dining at Sardis where he always manages to mix a little business with pleasure.
