Susan Rigetti is a novelist, journalist, screenwriter, and the author of three books: the critically-acclaimed memoir Whistleblower (which NPR named one of the best books of 2020), her debut novel Cover Story (which TIME Magazine named one of the must-read books of 2022), and a textbook about software architecture and engineering. As a journalist, she has worked as a staff editor for The New York Times and Slate, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Increment Magazine (which Kara Swisher dubbed "The New Yorker for geeks"). Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, TIME, Slate, Vanity Fair, and more.

Before her career in writing and journalism, Rigetti worked as a software engineer at various companies in Silicon Valley, and is widely known for publishing a blog post in 2017 documenting the harassment and discrimination she experienced while working at Uber. She was named a "Person of the Year" by
TIME, The Financial Times, and The Webby Awards, and has appeared on on Fortune’s “40 Under 40” list, Vanity Fair’s New Establishment List, Marie Claire’s New Guard list, the Bloomberg 50, the Upstart 50, the Recode 100, the Politico 50, and many more. She has been profiled in The New York Times, TIME, and many others.

She graduated with degrees in physics and philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, and splits her time between Los Angeles, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
