River Ari

Born in a green-lightning thunderstorm, River Ari leaned into the chaos from day one. They left a cult, ballroom danced in Vegas, and survived a messy three-year divorce (and two cicada broods–you decide which is worse). River continued to carve their own path by moonlighting their own business as a freelance editor (aka bestie and hype partner), focusing on queer and neurodivergent work. When not writing, editing, or wrangling the small army they made, they attempt to befriend crows and play Mass Effect-themed D&D.

River specializes in dark fiction full of social justice undercurrents. Their full-goblin writing process absolutely requires 80+ hour playlists and dozens of mood-boards. Drawing from their own experiences, River centers queernormativity, neurodivergence, and mental health in every work, along with an unhealthy amount of snarky banter and found family. Their current works in progress include a gritty romantic thriller set in Chicago, a found-family-gone-wrong thriller, and a grimdark fantasy full of blood and feminine-ish rage.
