P.L. RivenP. L. Riven is a former actress turned Speculative writer. Having starred in indie films and musical productions, motherhood led her back to her early love for books and storytelling as she sought to foster a passion for imagination in her children. She cut her literary teeth on 19th-century British classics before discovering a deep passion for speculative fiction and fantasy worlds—a love nurtured by her father, an avid sci-fi and fantasy reader, who introduced her to the genre’s limitless possibilities. She holds a Bachelor's in History and Philosophy from Kennesaw State University and a Master's in History from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where she published a thesis on Henry IV of England. Though initially pursuing a career as a professor, motherhood reignited her love for imaginative play, leading her to pursue fiction full-time. Her macabre fantasy Reap What You Sew graced the cover of Killer Nashville Magazine, and she won First Place in NYC Midnight’s Flash Fiction Challenge in the Horror category. She has been spotlighted on podcasts and YouTube shows including Word Improv, Tales from the Wandering Scribe, and The Star Chamber Show. She has been a panelist at conferences such as Killer Nashville and helmed a workshop at the Imaginarium convention. Inspired by mythology, religion, and supernatural lore, P. L. transports audiences to dynamic secondary worlds filled with vivid, unforgettable characters. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and two children, and when she’s not writing, she’s studying French, baking elaborate cakes, or indulging in reality TV, all while fictional characters—twisty, dark and with a touch of charm—pop by, demanding their stories be told.
