Maria St. Louis-Sanchez
Fifteen years as a crime and breaking news writer for daily newspapers was long enough to give Maria St. Louis-Sanchez a lifetime of ideas for her mystery and thriller books. Driven by anxiety and traumatic memories, her writing seeks out the best in people while also acknowledging that there’s still a lot wrong in the world.
Now a recovering journalist, Maria’s day job as a software developer supporting renewable energy lets her sleep at night while also allowing her the mental space to write for pleasure. Her characters tend to be smart, flawed, diverse, and just trying to survive whatever absurd situation Maria throws them into. When not writing words or code, she’s busy as mom and chauffeur to three beautiful small humans, wife to a man who doesn’t complain when she buys her thousandth journal, and can often be found hiking Colorado trails or going for runs so slow that they could best be categorized as jiggly walks.
