Lindsay Flanagan - Literary Intern
Lindsay used to write lists in school of what she should play when she was free from the classroom, and reading was always included on that list. More often than not, reading won over any other activity. She was happiest with a good book and a warm heater and still prefers to stay inside and read or write.
She earned a Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing and spent over a decade working in higher education before completely changing her career path and becoming an editor in 2014. She has worked on various editing and research projects for Eschler Editing, Immortal Works, and Shadow Mountain and also for private editing clients through her own business, Elle&A. Lindsay also holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literature, and her favorite undergrad literature courses always involved ghosts and the Gothic.
Lindsay is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the League of Utah Writers. When she's not editing, she's writing poetry and fantasy novels, taking photos of Utah’s majestic landscapes, chasing after her favorite bands, or riding motorcycles with her husband, with whom she's raising two brilliant and beautiful daughters.
Her favorite genres include Young Adult and Middle Grade (mostly fantasy), and her favorite books include Harry Potter—all of them—but if she had to choose, it would be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix; The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien; Dracula by Bram Stoker; Enna Burning by Shannon Hale; And I Darken by Kiersten White, The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare; and Heartless by Marissa Meyer.
