Kelsey Down - Literary Intern
Kelsey's Myers-Briggs personality type is INFJ, often called “The Advocate”—and she likes to think of herself as an advocate for authors. Kelsey earned a bachelor's degree in English and editing, and she also completed a summer creative writing program at Oxford University. After college, she took a brief detour into digital marketing, but even then she continued to pursue her first love: books. Now she works as a freelance editor while living in Nashville with her partner, daughter, and dog. Some of her recent favorite books are Circe, Station Eleven, The Underground Railroad, and Homegoing. She loves to read adult and YA fiction with any kind of speculative, fantasy, or science fiction elements—especially with a literary slant and coming from multicultural or underrepresented voices.
Kelsey is a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association. She has edited for Oxford University Press, Standout Books, Ebook Launch, and Precision Editing Group, and she previously completed an internship at Cedar Fort Publishing. She runs a Slack group for editorial freelancers.
