Huang ChenHuang Chen was born in China and raised in a big family with many strong women. When she flew to the States alone to finish high school, she adapted to a new culture and life of independence. While the two most dynamic cultures in the world collided and fused in her, reading has been her hiding place and sense of safety.
Huang spent years working in the special education department at a local public high school. While watching her students study, she felt the desire to learn again. When the pandemic hit, she enrolled in the Creative Writing and Literature program and graduated with a Master of Liberal Arts from Harvard Division of Continuing Studies in 2023. Since then, she has interned at Regal House Publishing and Metamorphosis Literary Agency. Huang dreams of a literary career in international subsidiary rights where she can talk to story lovers worldwide and help underrepresented groups find their voices. Huang loves stories that open her mind and broaden her view. She appreciates clever plots and beautiful writing. Huang enjoys children's books across genres and prefers adult mysteries and thrillers that don't involve a lot of blood. She wants to read about grounded problems in mundane and fantastical worlds. When she’s not reading, you can find her taking photos or watching anime. |
