Alexander WhittleBorn in Lima, Peru, Alex travelled his entire life and has stories to tell, he's a classic 3rd culture child. Finally settling in the Sottish borders with his family and four children. Alex has been capturing images on film since age six and later attended the London School of Printing-Professional photography and dove into image creation. Making a natural move over from stills, Alex has now been a freelancer in the film industry for over 20 years and is a highly experienced Director, Producer, and Creator.
Alex owns New Light Studio as an independent film company based in the Scottish Borders. New Light Studio’s USP is to produce Long form Documentaries and Scripted TV series that focuses on Social, environmental, and humanitarian led issues. Alex has directed and produced numerous short films and three feature length documentaries including the widely impactful Brave Blue World, 2019 on Netflix and Lava Bombs 2022 on Amazon. Following its success he Executive Produced the follow up to Lava Bombs which has just finished production. Alex has a slate of five more scripted films, shorts and series in development including "Aye been Biking", a feature documentary based on Mountain biking in the Scottish borders which is just starting production.
