Sarita Amorim - Literary Intern
Sarita Amorim has been a janitor, a freelance makeup artist, a personal banker, and the office manager for a landscaping firm. Nothing kept her attention. She would daydream about tea and good books and catching a minute to pen the next chapter of her own novel.
Sarita is now an editor, both freelance and for an independent publisher of speculative young adult fiction, romance, and middle-grade novels.
She does not plan on leaving the book business.
She graduated with a BA in political science and anthropology while working any combination of odd jobs.
Sarita spends any minute of free time with her two sons, twelve and one, and her fiancé. Video gaming, sports, and taking it easy are her favorite past times. Future ambitions include traveling the world, hitting the lottery jackpot, and testing her hand at a part-time gig as a cryptozoologist.
Sarita loves contemporary, edgy young adult with lots of genuine voice, and fantasy and science fiction with a unique hasn’t been done before premise, great world building, and beautiful imagery. For middle grade, she loves quirky characters with heart. For adult, Sarita loves great writing. As long as it isn’t kitschy chick lit, anything done well catches her eye. She loves male POV, a literary bent, and authentic, witty dialogue.
Non-fiction loves include history, health and fitness, artist biographies, creative non-fiction, and strange true stories, crime or other.
