Gretchen Dyson - Literary Intern
Gretchen is a wife, a “mother” to three fur babies, and a geek. Having grown up playing fantasy RPGs, she believes an active imagination is essential for survival and as a result, has kept her head firmly in the clouds.
In the not-too-distant past, she earned her BA in English Writing & Rhetoric from St. Edward’s University, then attended the Denver Publishing Institute under the direction of Joyce Meskis. While in school, she worked on her university’s literary and academic journals, and served as a vice president for the St. Ed’s branches of Alpha Phi Omega and Sigma Tau Delta.
When she’s not working, Gretchen can be found writing her own manuscripts, snapping photos with her beloved Nikon, or exhausting her Netflix queue. In these and other activities, there will typically be at least one puppy in her lap.
Gretchen prefers novels for young, new, and young-at-heart adults that take her somewhere her car never could. In particular, she loves contemporary YA, adult mysteries and thrillers, and strong female MCs. The quickest way to her heart is whip-smart banter and a villain she can love to hate.
For non-fiction, she’s interested in travel experiences, quirky coming-of-age essays and memoirs, and cultural history.
