Eliza McDonough has always loved reading and writing. She is a student at Dartmouth College majoring in English Literature with a focus in creative writing, specifically creative nonfiction. After discovering narrative nonfiction in her first year at college, Eliza honed in on the research behind beautiful narratives.
She spent two summers teaching high potential, underserved students through the Breakthrough Collaborative. Through teaching English classes and creative writing to her students, she fell in love with working to help authors develop their ideas and narratives. She loves working with authors to improve their manuscripts and queries.
She is also a photographer with experience in both digital and film. When Eliza is not reading or writing, she can be found taking photographs. She also loves tea, chocolate, and watching TV medical dramas.
As far as manuscripts go, Eliza loves a variety of different genres. In fiction, she is particularly interested in historical fiction, romance, and fantasy. In nonfiction Eliza particularly loves memoirs, narrative nonfiction, and self-help books. In main roles she looks for strong females, people of color, and LGBTQ lead characters. She also loves books that switch between two perspectives and poetic writing with rich descriptions.
