It may sound a bit clichéd, but writing has always been a calling for me, even at a young age. Even so, the thought of becoming an author just seemed too distant, too unattainable, so I never gave it serious thought.
In high school I stumbled onto the school newspaper, and instantly decided I would become a reporter – until I found out in college that I hated writing in the inverted pyramid style. And that I wouldn’t be able to start sentences with the word “and.” My storytelling and fiction writing skills didn’t go to waste, though, as I landed a career in marketing, advertising and PR, and have been employed in that field for the past two decades – the last 15 of which have been in higher education.
I was born, raised and lived most of my life in Southern California, but now reside in Oregon, just outside of Portland, with my wife Jennifer and our three children. I love to read, hike the green hills of the northwest and play video games with my two boys. I’m also a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Angels (Portland really needs an MLB franchise) and the newly re-minted Los Angeles Rams.
Bleeding Black Ash is my first novel and I am thrilled to have found a home with the Corvisiero Literary Agency.
