SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

***PLEASE READ CAREFULLY***

The Corvisiero Literary Agency accepts queries from both established and emerging authors. We pride ourselves on taking a personal approach to the query process. Make sure you follow our guidelines carefully to help us provide exceptional service.

The Corvisiero Literary Agency accepts electronic queries only.

General Guidelines
  • Email your query to query@corvisieroagency.com. Put the word "Query for" and the name of the agent you are directing the query to in the subject.
  • Please submit one project at a time. If your query is rejected, you may then submit a query for another project.
  • Do not e-mail queries to any of our Agents directly unless the work has been solicited *or* their submission preferences indicate it is acceptable to do so.
  • Please review our Agents' profiles under the Representation menu and choose the agent who is the best fit for your genre/writing style. Then address your Query to that specific Agent. Do not query more than one agent at Corvisiero.
  • A rejection from one agent is a rejection from all. Please do not query another agent unless expressly invited.

Submission Instructions

Because each agent may have their own personal submission preference, once you have selected an agent to address your Query to, please review their submission preferences for detailed instructions. There is a submission preferences section on each Agent's page.

Please note that none of our agents represent screenplays, poetry or novellas (except for Romance).

For fiction, we require a query letter pasted into the body of your email along with a 1-2 page synopsis (that includes spoilers and the ending) and the first 5 pages of your manuscript either attached as 2 separate Word .doc files or pasted into the Query email.

For non-fiction, you should include a full proposal instead of the synopsis, but make sure the agent accepts non-fiction, and follow their specific submission guidelines.

All sample pages must be properly formatted into 1 inch margins, double-spaced lines, Times New Roman black font size 12.

Before submitting, please keep in mind these simple Query Do's and Don'ts:

DO:
  • Research the agent to whom you are submitting both for their preferences and their submission guidelines.
  • Keep your query confined to ONE PAGE.
  • Include your name, the title, genre, and word count.
  • Tell us a little bit about yourself.
  • Make sure your work is as polished as it can be.
  • Hook us! Catch our attention without laying it all out in the query. Save the full details of the plot for the synopsis.
  • List any achievements related to writing and/or a subject relevant to your MS.

DON'T

  • Send a mass email to multiple agents.
  • Send an impersonal "Dear Agent" Query.
  • Send genres we don't represent.
  • Send an MS that is poorly formatted or hard to read.
